How songs are generated
When you tap Generate Song, the app does three things:
- Lyrics — your selected mood, vocal style, topic, and language are combined into a prompt and sent to the public Pollinations text endpoint (
text.pollinations.ai), which returns original song lyrics. - Cover art — an image-description prompt is built from the same choices and sent to the public Pollinations image endpoint (
image.pollinations.ai), which returns a square cover image saved locally as a JPEG. - Backing beat — the drum/bass/chord-pad instrumental is synthesised on your device in real time and saved as a temporary WAV in the app’s private cache. No audio files are downloaded.
The app does not attach your name, email, device ID, or any other identifier to the prompts. If a network call fails, the app falls back to a deterministic on-device template so the feature still works.
The “Sing” feature
The vocal you hear when you tap Sing is your phone’s built-in text-to-speech (TTS) engine reciting the lyrics — it is not a hosted AI singing model. The TTS engine runs entirely on your device. No audio is uploaded or shared. If the TTS voice for your chosen language is not installed, the app falls back to your phone’s default voice and shows a hint to install the missing voice from Android Settings.
The “Record My Voice” feature
If you tap Record My Voice, the app asks for microphone permission and records up to 60 seconds of audio. The recording is saved only on your device (in the app’s private storage) and is layered over the on-device backing beat when you tap My Voice. Recordings are never uploaded, sent to any server, or shared automatically. They are deleted when you delete the song from History or uninstall the app. You can revoke microphone permission at any time from Android’s app settings.
Network connections
The internet is used for: loading ads via Google AdMob (see “Advertising” below), and sending the prompt to Pollinations when you tap Generate. The app requires an active internet connection to open — you will see a “No internet connection” screen when offline.
Permissions the app requests
- Internet / network state — required to request ads and call the Pollinations endpoints.
- Microphone (
RECORD_AUDIO) — only requested the first time you tap Record My Voice. Used solely to capture the audio you record into a local file. Not used for any background recording.
The app does not request location, contacts, camera, gallery access, or any other sensitive permission.
What about AI-generated lyrics and ownership?
Lyrics returned by Pollinations are AI-generated originals. Because large language models train on the public web, generated lyrics may occasionally resemble existing works. Review any song you intend to publish (release, livestream, monetised video, etc.) before using it commercially. AI Songs Generating grants no warranty of originality or non-infringement on the AI output.
Advertising
AI Songs Generating shows ads provided by Google AdMob in four formats: banner (small strip at the bottom of every screen), interstitial (occasional full-screen ad after a few song generations), rewarded (optional full-screen ad in exchange for more generations past the free limit), and app-open (full-screen ad when you bring the app back to the foreground). Google’s advertising SDK collects and processes limited data — for example, your device’s advertising identifier and approximate IP-based location — to serve and measure ads. This is governed by Google’s policies:
If you live in a region where consent is required (the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or a US state with applicable privacy law), the app uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) or sets npa=1 (non-personalized ads) so it stays compliant with GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA. You can revisit your consent choice any time from the Settings screen.
Children
This app is not directed at children under 13 and is not classified as a “family” app on Google Play.
