AI Study Helper does not collect any personal information from you. The app has no user accounts, does not ask for your name or email, and does not record your behaviour on a server we control.

How answers are generated
When you tap Generate, the app sends a short text prompt — built from the study tool you chose (Homework Solver, Explain, Flashcards, Quiz, PDF Summary, or Scan Notes), the text you typed or that was recognized on your device, the subject area, and the reading level — to Pollinations’ free public text API at https://text.pollinations.ai/openai. Pollinations returns the answer which the app shows on screen.
No photo, PDF file, contact, or device identifier is sent. For the Scan Notes and PDF Summary tools, optical character recognition (OCR) runs entirely on your device using Google’s on-device ML Kit; only the resulting plain text is transmitted.
AI-generated content disclosure
Solutions, explanations, summaries, flashcards, and quizzes are generated by a third-party large language model. AI tools can be inaccurate, incomplete, or occasionally fabricate facts that sound plausible. Always verify important information against a trusted source — a textbook, teacher, or reputable reference — before turning it in as coursework or relying on it for an exam. AI Study Helper and the developer are not responsible for the correctness of generated content. The app is intended for self-study help, not as a substitute for professional educational, medical, legal, or financial advice.
Network connections
The Saved tab, Settings, study-streak, and on-device text recognition all run entirely on your device. The internet is used for: (1) Google AdMob to load ads (see “Advertising” below), and (2) sending the prompt to Pollinations when you tap Generate (see above). The app requires an active internet connection to open — you will see a “No internet connection” screen when offline.
Permissions the app requests
- Internet / network state — required to request ads and to call the Pollinations text API.
- Camera — requested only when you use the Scan Notes tool, so the document scanner can capture your notes. The camera is never used in the background, and images are processed for text on-device.
The app does not request contacts, location, microphone, or any other sensitive permission.
Advertising
AI Study Helper shows ads provided by Google AdMob in four formats: banner (small strip at the bottom of most screens), interstitial (occasional full-screen ad after several generations), app-open (full-screen ad when you bring the app back to the foreground), and rewarded (an optional full-screen ad you can choose to watch in exchange for an extra answer past the per-session free allowance). Google’s advertising SDK collects and processes limited data — for example, your device’s advertising identifier and approximate IP-based location — to serve and measure ads. This is governed by Google’s policies:
If you live in a region where consent is required (the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or a US state with applicable privacy law), the app uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) or sets npa=1 (non-personalized ads) so it stays compliant with GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA.
Children
AI Study Helper is intended for older students and adult learners. It is not classified as a “family” app on Google Play, and the AdMob ad content is mixed-audience. Younger learners should use the app under adult supervision.
