Privacy Policy — China Jobs

What this app is (and is not)

China Jobs is an independent directory that gathers the most trending recruitment websites for the mainland Chinese job market in one place and helps you reach them quickly. On top of that directory the app adds its own native features: an audience-based filter (Local Chinese, Expat, Tech, Executive, Fresh Graduate, Teaching), saved bookmarks, and an offline Career Guide with practical orientation tips. When you tap a portal, it opens inside a simple in-app browser, and you can hand the page off to your phone’s default browser at any time with “Open in browser”. China Jobs is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the websites or employers it links to (Boss Zhipin / Boss直聘, 51job / 前程无忧, Zhaopin / 智联招聘, Liepin / 猎聘, Lagou / 拉勾, Maimai / 脉脉, Dajie / 大街, ChinaHR / 中华英才, Yingjiesheng / 应届生求职, eChinaCities, eChinaJobs, HiredChina, JobLeadChina, ChinaJob.com / 中国国际人才网, Teach Away, eChinaCareers, or any other). All product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

What this app collects

China Jobs does not collect any personal information from you. There are no user accounts, no sign-in, and no server we control that stores your activity.

How the in-app browser works

Tapping a portal opens that portal’s own public website inside Android’s standard WebView component, scoped to the URL you selected. The page is served directly by the website — the same content you would get by typing the address into any browser. China Jobs does not inject scripts into those pages, and does not read your cookies, login credentials, session tokens, or the content you submit on them. For sign-in or applying with an account, we recommend using the “Open in browser” button so the flow runs in your full system browser, where the third-party site’s own privacy policy applies.

Career Guide content

The Career Guide screen contains general orientation about the Chinese job market — résumé conventions, work-permit basics, salary bands, common interview formats, and scam warnings. It is informational only and is not an offer of employment, a guarantee of pay, or financial, legal, or immigration advice. Rules and figures change — always confirm current requirements with the Chinese government (e.g. SAFEA / National Immigration Administration) and qualified local advisors before acting.

Permissions the app requests

The app does not request contacts, location, microphone, camera, storage, or any other sensitive permission.

Advertising

China Jobs shows ads provided by Google AdMob in three formats: banner (a small strip at the bottom of the screen), interstitial (an occasional full-screen ad after several portal opens), and app-open (a full-screen ad when you bring the app back to the foreground — never on the first launch). Google’s advertising SDK collects and processes limited data — for example, your device’s advertising identifier and approximate IP-based location — to serve and measure ads. This is governed by Google’s policies:

If you live in a region where consent is required (the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or a US state with applicable privacy law), the app uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) and you can re-open the consent form from About → “Ad consent preferences”.

No fees, ever

China Jobs is free and will never ask you to pay for a job, a visa, or an application. Legitimate Chinese employers do not charge candidates. Treat anyone who asks for a deposit, “agent fee”, or upfront payment as a red flag.

Children

China Jobs is intended for job seekers and is not designed for children. The AdMob ad content is mixed-audience.
