What this app collects
HeroWalls 3D does not collect any personal information from you. The app has no user accounts, does not ask for your name or email, and does not record your behaviour on a server we control.

Wallpapers shipped with the app
The Heroes and Legends tabs show artwork that was AI-generated at build time and bundled inside the app. These wallpapers are loaded from local files on your device — no network call is made when you browse the gallery or apply one of them as a wallpaper.
Every character in HeroWalls 3D is an original AI-generated design. The app does not use, reproduce, or distribute any real, trademarked, or licensed character, logo, or likeness. HeroWalls 3D is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any film studio, comic publisher, game company, or other franchise.
AI Search (Pollinations.AI)
The AI Search tab lets you type a character-themed prompt and generate a fresh wallpaper. When you tap Generate (or a suggestion chip), the app sends:
- your typed prompt (with a fixed style suffix appended) to
https://image.pollinations.ai/prompt/…; - standard HTTP request headers added by the Android networking stack (e.g. your IP address, used by Pollinations for rate-limiting).
Your prompt history is not stored anywhere — not on your device, not on a HeroWalls server. Pollinations.AI’s handling of the data they receive is governed by Pollinations’s site terms. The returned image is held in your phone’s memory while you preview it; tapping Apply hands it to Android’s WallpaperManager — the image is not re-uploaded anywhere.
Network connections
All wallpaper rendering and applying runs on your device. The internet is used for: (1) Google AdMob to load ads (see “Advertising” below), and (2) when you use the AI Search tab, sending your typed prompt to the Pollinations.AI image service. The app requires an active internet connection to open — you will see a “No internet connection” screen when offline.
Permissions the app requests
- Internet / network state — required to request ads and to call Pollinations.AI from the AI Search tab.
- Set wallpaper — required to install your chosen wallpaper on the Home / Lock screen via Android’s system
WallpaperManager. - Write external storage (Android 9 and below only,
android:maxSdkVersion="28") — legacy permission required only on older Android versions for the wallpaper decode path.
The app does not request location, contacts, microphone, camera, notifications, or any other sensitive permission.
Advertising
HeroWalls 3D shows ads provided by Google AdMob (banner, interstitial, app-open, and rewarded formats). The rewarded format is used to gate AI Search generations — you choose to watch a short ad in order to generate an AI wallpaper. Google’s advertising SDK collects and processes limited data — for example, your device’s advertising identifier and approximate IP-based location — to serve and measure ads. This is governed by Google’s policies:
If you live in a region where consent is required (the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or a US state with applicable privacy law), the app uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) or sets npa=1 (non-personalized ads) so it stays compliant with GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA.
Children
This app is not directed at children under 13 and is not classified as a “family” app on Google Play.
