What this app collects
Lisan does not collect any personal information from you. The app does not have user accounts, does not ask for your name or email, and does not record your behavior on a server we control.

Network connections
The bundled Arabic-English dictionary, phrases, roots and quiz all work offline. The internet is used for two things:
- AI translate — if you tap the “AI translate” chip on the lookup screen and type a free-form sentence, the text is sent to pollinations.ai to produce a translation. The sentence is sent only when you press “Translate with AI”. We do not log or store the text.
- Advertising — Google AdMob loads ads (see “Advertising” below).
The audio pronunciation feature uses your phone’s on-device text-to-speech engine and does not contact our servers.
Permissions the app requests
- Internet / network state — required only for the network connections listed above.
The app does not request location, contacts, storage, microphone, camera, notifications, or any other sensitive permission.
Advertising
Lisan shows ads provided by Google AdMob. Google’s advertising SDK collects and processes limited data — for example, your device’s advertising identifier and approximate IP-based location — to serve and measure ads. This is governed by Google’s policies:
If you live in a region where consent is required (the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or a US state with applicable privacy law), the app uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to gather your consent before serving personalized ads.
The app includes a rewarded ad inside the Quiz screen: watching it grants extra skip credits. Watching this ad is always optional — you can decline.
Children
This app is not directed at children under 13 and is not classified as a “family” app on Google Play.
