Privacy Policy — RingForge
What this app collects
RingForge does not collect any personal information from you. The app does not have user accounts, does not ask for your name or email, and does not record your behavior on a server we control.
| Data | Collected? | Stored where |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email, account info | No | — |
| Device location | No | — |
| Microphone / camera audio or video | No (app never reads your mic or camera) | — |
| AI prompts you type | Sent to a third-party text endpoint — see below | Not stored by us |
| Crash logs / analytics | No | — |
How the ringtones are generated
Every ringtone, notification sound, alarm and song melody is synthesised on your device in real time. No audio files are downloaded and none are bundled with the app — each tone is rendered as a temporary WAV in the app’s private cache when you preview or save it.
The “AI Search” feature
When you type a description in the AI Search tab and tap “Compose ringtone”, the text you typed is sent to the public Pollinations text endpoint (text.pollinations.ai) so it can return a short musical specification (tempo, note list, instrument hint). RingForge then renders that specification into a melody on your device. The app does not attach your name, email, device ID, or any other identifier to the prompt. If the network call fails for any reason, the app falls back to a deterministic on-device generator.
Network connections
The internet is used for two things: loading ads via Google AdMob (see “Advertising” below), and sending the AI Search prompt to Pollinations (only when you tap the compose button). Browsing the Ringtones, Notifications, Alarms and Songs tabs and setting any of them as your system sound works entirely on your device. The app requires an active internet connection to open — you will see a “No internet connection” screen when offline.
Permissions the app requests
- Internet / network state — required to request ads and call the AI Search endpoint.
- Modify system settings (
WRITE_SETTINGS) — required so the app can set your selected sound as the default ringtone, notification sound, or alarm sound. The system shows a separate consent screen the first time you use this and you can revoke it at any time in Android’s app settings.
The app does not request location, contacts, microphone, camera, gallery access, or any other sensitive permission.
Advertising
RingForge shows ads provided by Google AdMob in four formats: banner (small strip at the bottom of every screen), interstitial (occasional full-screen ad after a few “Set as” actions), rewarded (optional full-screen ad you watch in exchange for composing a new AI ringtone), and app-open (full-screen ad when you bring the app back to the foreground). Google’s advertising SDK collects and processes limited data — for example, your device’s advertising identifier and approximate IP-based location — to serve and measure ads. This is governed by Google’s policies:
If you live in a region where consent is required (the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or a US state with applicable privacy law), the app uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) or sets npa=1 (non-personalized ads) so it stays compliant with GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA. You can revisit your consent choice any time from the Settings screen.
Children
This app is not directed at children under 13 and is not classified as a “family” app on Google Play.
