About the content
Stack Explorer is a reference catalogue of programming languages, frameworks, databases and other developer tooling. All descriptions, taglines and use-case lists are bundled inside the app at build time — the app does not fetch this content from any server. Information is community-sourced and reflects general industry usage as of the app’s release; it is provided for educational reference only and may evolve as ecosystems change.
Network connections
The app uses the internet for two purposes only:
- Loading ads through Google AdMob (see “Advertising” below).
- Opening the official website of a technology in your default browser when you tap the “Official site” link on a detail page. Those external sites have their own privacy policies.
The app does not send anything you type, search for, or favorite to any server we control.
Permissions the app requests
- Internet / network state — required only for the network connections listed above. The app gates its UI until an internet connection is available so that ad-supported features work as intended.
The app does not request location, contacts, storage, microphone, camera, notifications, or any other sensitive permission.
Advertising
Stack Explorer shows ads provided by Google AdMob. Google’s advertising SDK collects and processes limited data — for example, your device’s advertising identifier and approximate IP-based location — to serve and measure ads. This is governed by Google’s policies:
If you live in a region where consent is required (the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or a US state with applicable privacy law), the app uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) or sets npa=1 (non-personalized ads) so it stays compliant with GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA. You can revisit your ad-consent choice anytime from Settings → Ad privacy options.
Trademarks
Technology names, logos and trademarks shown inside Stack Explorer are the property of their respective owners and are used here only for descriptive, reference purposes. Stack Explorer is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the technologies listed in the catalogue.
Children
This app is not directed at children under 13 and is not classified as a “family” app on Google Play.
